Everything You Need to Know Before You Glide
The Experience
The SEABOB F9 SR is the world’s most powerful personal underwater vehicle. It is not a jet ski. It is not a paddleboard. It is a hand-held machine that pulls you through the water — on the surface or below it — at speeds up to 22 km/h. You hold on, angle your body, and it does the rest. Within minutes, most first-timers are diving and surfacing like they were born to it.
None whatsoever. The SEABOB is intuitive by design. The controls are in your hands and the machine responds to the angle of your body. Your guide will walk you through everything before you enter the water. If you can hold on and relax, you can SEABOB.
Not at all. The SEABOB does the work. You guide it. Most guests describe the experience as effortless once they get the feel for the machine, which typically takes about five minutes. The physical demand is roughly equivalent to swimming slowly, but without the effort of swimming.
There is nothing else quite like it. On the surface, it is pure speed. Wind, spray, and the sensation of flying through water. Below the surface, everything changes. It becomes quiet. Weightless. Most guests say the same thing when they surface for the first time: “That was unreal.”
Safety
Yes. The SEABOB F9 SR is a precision-engineered machine with multiple built-in safety features. Your Glide Miami guide is certified and trained specifically for this machine. They’ll be in the water with you at all times. We provide full safety equipment, including a wetsuit, mask, and personal flotation device. We operate only in conditions we have assessed as safe for the session type booked. Your safety is the only thing we do not compromise on.
Yes. You will be wearing a flotation device and your guide remains beside you the entire session. You do not need to be able to swim to enjoy the surface riding. For the Reef & Snorkel experience, basic swimming ability is recommended. For the Discovery Ride and Private Charter, non-swimmers are welcome.
Guests must be at least 14 years of age to operate the SEABOB. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The minimum age to rent a personal watercraft in Florida is 18. Our guides manage the session to ensure full compliance with all state regulations.
Practicalities
A swimsuit. That’s it. We provide everything else: a wetsuit, mask, and safety equipment. Bring sunscreen, a towel, and a change of clothes if you have plans after.
Glide Miami operates from three South Florida locations: Haulover Inlet, Dania Beach, and Hollywood Broadwalk Park. You will select your location at booking. Each location has a designated meeting point for your guide. Full directions are sent in your booking confirmation email. If you have booked a hotel or yacht pickup, we will come to you.
Your safety comes first. If conditions are unsuitable for your session, we will contact you as early as possible and reschedule at no cost. Miami weather is exceptional year-round, and cancellations due to conditions are rare. When they do happen, we handle them properly.
Full details are in our Terms & Conditions. In summary:
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours before your session receive a full refund
- Cancellations within 48 hours can be rescheduled
- No-shows are non-refundable
Absolutely. We recommend a waterproof camera or GoPro if you have one. We also offer a photography package through Glide Miami. Ask at booking and our guide will capture the session for you. The SEABOB underwater is one of the most photogenic experiences you will ever have.
